Rubbing Elbows with Nature.. Walking Oakville's Beautiful Trails

I love my new form of Exercise!!
For many years I was a avid Jazzerciser.. I found as I aged,
the moves were a little to much for my poor old knees and it was time to find a new routine.
My daughter told me about this great ap called "Map My Walk"
I WAS HOOKED!
I love so many things about walking my beautiful walking route.
It takes me through many types of terrain.
I go past community gardens, through thick brush, past a large open field,
a dog park,  a children's play park and a sweet view of the lake.
The best part of my new love is brushing elbows with nature..
I listen to may favorite tunes..
So far I have for sure helped baby robins to fly..
( they run in front of me in a frenzy until they jump jump and fly)
Seen dozens of baby bunnies,
Collected beautiful feathers,
Been caught in a downpour,
Smelled cascading flowers in the morning,

Mother Killdeer doing the fake broken wing trick for me...

I am no longer trapped in a tight room rubbing elbows with other women jumping up and down..
I walk right out my front door, get fresh air,
sunshine on my face, sweet smells in the air,
BUT THE BEST PART BY FAR
is rubbing elbows with Nature!!!!

TWO BY SEA

Follow the Plastiki Expedition the brainchild of David de Rothschild,
His goal is to sail 12,000 nautical miles across the
Pacific Ocean from San Francisco to Sydney
in a boat made entirely out of plastic bottles
and recycled waste products.
They embarked in April, carrying (among others)
four scientists from the Scripps Research Institute
who will study ocean acidification,
marine debris, overfishing, and coral bleaching.

My Love of Birds ~~ A Lifetime of Pleasure~~ Sculpted Acrylic Mini Paintings

I am lucky enough to have a lovely stand
of trees in my back yard..

Seeing the birds flit around is magical to me..
I was raised bird watching..
my father was a
naturalist and my brother a

honest to goodness Ornithologist for the
Canadian Wildlife Service.

It is thrilling to me to spend the day with
Al birdwatching..

we would drive the dirt roads of Saskatchewan,
tramp through the woods....looking listening..

I will bird watch for the rest of my life..
keeping track of the species.. dates.. places...
The birds of the world truly hold a
special spot in my heart!!

What's Your Animal "Totem" or "Spirit Guide"?

My Totem is the Cardinal
Cardinal: Recognizing your Self Importance
Cardinal reminds us that no matter what time of the day or year it is,
there is always the opportunity to recognize the important of our life purpose.
If a Cardinal appears, it is time to pay attention to your health and well-being.
It is also a time to listen to the feminine side, the aspects of creativity and intuition.
Cardinal people are in tune to the number 12.
Twelve months or a year’s time is very important to a Cardinal totem person.
They remind us to add “color” to our life and to remember
that everything you do is important.
