Dreaming of the Mediterranean and Whitewash.... El Greco Memory Tiles

Top of my Bucket List is a trip to Santorini.. I dream of gazing over the whitewash buildings down into the beautiful blue seas of the Mediterranean. I created this collection of Artifact Plaques for those who also love the Mystique of the Greek Islands.. a little reminder of that beautiful place on earth.

Staples Engineer DIY Print * One step further.....

Super large Engineer Prints form STAPLES are all the rage these days.
I decided to take my DIY Print one .. actually Two steps further.

Love the way the print came out! and the paper quality was a little better than I expected
I chose a Picnic picture of my beautiful granddaughter to give as a surprise to my Daughter and Son in law
I mounted it on a sheet of builders styrene from Home Depot Painting the edges in black
It was so easy to install.. being so incredibly lightweight... 4 pieces of mounting adhesive was plenty
They will be so surprised when they get back from their trip :)
I hand colored the flower for a bit of a "POP"
Added some glitz.. pearls and diamonds.. My daughter is a girly girl..
A little color..

When they came home I got the call.. a squealing happy daughter...
Thank You MoM **** That was enough for me :) :)
This project was under $20.00 can you believe it!

Feeling Sketchy and a New Painting..

Time to replenish my ARTIFACT PLAQUES
I was feeling a little creative and I always love working on these 6 x 8inch plaques.
So seeing that it is a New Year, I decided to come up with some NEW
designs and will post them in my ETSY SHOP when they are all done.

Sketches waiting to come to life...... :)

Message in A Bottle

Battling the winter blues I had a need to paint a beachy feel painting.
We are off to Fort Myers in February and I was thinking how cool
it would be to find a message in a bottle.
This is a 18 x 24 Acrylic painting.
I wanted to have a juxtaposition of the silky water and a pebbly beach..
I love how it looks when the sun shines on it.. it picks up all the pebbly texture!

Hello 2013.... Goodbye 2012... And The Cutest Snow men you ever saw!!!

We went for a little wintery drive today.. it was full of snowy smiles**
First off there was some writing in the snow that made me smile...
we then went to check on my daughters apt while
they are away and the "upstairs kids"
made the most amazing smile inducing snowmen ever**
aren't they cute??
The big snow man reminds me of that talking snowman (Michael Keaton) in Jack Frost
