O.K I admit it.. I have a strange quirk.. I collect Rusty Bottle Caps...

Friends and family are starting to get used to my
mild obsession with collecting rusty things..
Mainly Rusty Bottle Caps..
I may have been a crow in a past life..
My eye always casts to the side of the road..
the edge of the parking lot..
the final resting place of the shiny bottle cap
that through time and erosion become my treasure..
when I suddenly say..pullover..or give me a minute..
They know I have honed in on a treasure site..
Perhaps the spot where picnickers popped
the tops off a cool one or two..
I see I am not alone in this quirk..

I love the look of rough hammered wrought iron,
the type you see in Mexico.
I tried my hand at a faux-finish
for one of my chalkboards.
It is sculpted and textured.
This would look great in a Mexican style kitchen.
Has a wire hanger with bead.
Very light weight, very durable.
Each board I create is unique.

I am lucky enough to have a lovely stand
of trees in my back yard..
Seeing the birds flit around is magical to me..
I was raised bird watching..
my father was a
naturalist and my brother a
honest to goodness Ornithologist for the
Canadian Wildlife Service.
It is thrilling to me to spend the day with
Al birdwatching..
we would drive the dirt roads of Saskatchewan,
tramp through the woods....looking listening..
I will bird watch for the rest of my life..
keeping track of the species.. dates.. places...
The birds of the world truly hold a
special spot in my heart!!
